The model/machine is really just the very basic. The red is a little more dull that the photo, too. There is no timer, which would be nice to keep from "over-cooking" the coffee after a little while. It heats the water, runs it through the grounds, and keeps the coffee hot. It's nice that we were able to find a red coffee maker again, which was the biggest attraction. The coffee maker is okay, but nothing spectacular. The functions are very basic; there are no frills with this machine. It was also quite disappointing that the water filter is not included with this product.
But, it also is well-made and very sturdy. I wanted a red coffemaker and that is why I chose this one. It just looks good in my kitchen.
I have always found Hamilton Beach to be great at making coffee makers. Easy to program and understand instructions. This is my third one in over 20 years.
My saister was,and is several months later,thrilled with it. There are cheaper coffeemakers that are just as high in quality,but if color is important or modern design it's worth the extra. and is several months later
When my current one finally gives out, I plan to buy another one from Amazon(hopefully the red). I am impressed with this Hamilton Beach product and recommend it. For a 1-year warranty, this wonderful coffee pot has been a great investment. Will not be very functional sitting directly under standard height cubbards. I purchased this coffeemaker five years ago and it is still doing great. I bought another one less than a year later for my son and daughter-in-law who has a red kitchen; they love theirs also. Just a note, though, It is very tall, so it must sit in an open space in order for the water to be poured in.
